FLOAT (Residency at Metal Peterborough)
Over the two-week residency I developed two audio-visual works:
The first is an interactive installation where the audience mould & manipulate the projection surface (sand) & then in turn respond to how they change the surface. It's a dialogue between audience & VJ.
The second is an immersive, live audio-visual experience. Audiences lie on the floor looking up at the ceiling & experience an original video work using archive space clips from 50's & 60's.

"What is VJing?"
VJing (Video DJing) is the same concept as DJing but mixes video & images instead of music. The result is a hypnotic, mesmerising experience that can do a lot of the creative heavy lifting for a production. Or it can be a stand-alone piece of work, like an installation. Audiences love to see the visuals responding live before their eyes. They can even trigger & remix the visuals themselves using a range of controllers such as the humble Playstation controller. My first ever VJ project was at The National Theatre (Connections Festival @ The Shed, 2014). Since then I've been commissioned by Manchester Royal Exchange & Sheffield Crucible Theatre. |
